hmm...i feel like eating....

this is probably why i'll never make it as a travel show hostess...or a food critic...or anything that has to do with eating strange stuff. unless its for money. then again...they probably do pay these dudes well enough. hm...can consider eating beating frog's heart for a thousand or more.

anyway...i've been losing sleep lately. but its time to catch up on some much needed rest....right after i watch lady in the water and finish up some work. its never ending. actually...i'll be lucky to get more than 6 hours of sleep today.

went to immigrations today to get my passport done. for those of you who aren't aware of my vey own tragic story..."gone in 60 seconds"...i was robbed 2 years ago. actually...someone broke into my friends car to steal my stuff. i felt so bad and i still do. anyway...long story short...i landed in KL and my friend picked me up from the airport. on the way to bangsar we stopped at another friends house so that i could change baju. we weren't gone for more than 5 minutes and already someone broke into her car to steal my luggage and laptop. and i...being the stupid idiot i can be sometimes...left my passport in my luggage bag.

so anyway...went to immigrations today...yes...after 2 fucking years...to get my international passport back. all this while i was using the restricted passport to get in and out of singapore cause i was too freaking lazy to get the international one done. i was the first one in line at the "tingkap siasatan dan rujukan passport hilang/rosak" but i was the last one to leave. the fella who was in charge of my file was being damn bitchy. imagine my luck...out of 3 or 4 officers...i get the one who's got PMS. the other officers were happily joking around with the rest of the people in line. ugh...and he made like a sloth and made me wait 1 fucking hour for something that could've been done in 2 minutes. the fact that i didn't get any sleep the day before didn't help.

welcome malaysia mega carnival sale

i submitted myself to the madness of the malaysian mega carnival sale today. it's only the beginning and i've already spent more than i should. oh well...seeing that i've only bought a skirt from forever 21 ever since i came back from singapore (which by the way is more than 2 months ago) i suppose i deserve a bit of luxury. so what the heck...i'll go out and buy clothes that i probably won't wear...i only buy it cause its pretty. in the end i'll end up wearing my jeans and my standard U2 racerback tops that i have in 20 colours. yes i am lame.

anyway...have i mentioned that womens undergarments are not cheap? a bra is equivalent to a pair of levi's jeans....depending on what brand it is. if we're looking at la senza and triumph then its not surprising that a bra can cost 120 ringgit. so i spent almost 500 bucks today on bra and panties. which entitled me to 3 bras and 8 undies. doesn't sound like much for 500 bucks...then again...it really isn't much. let's just not wear undergarments...going commando has a certain breeze to it no?

constantine vs. a promise kept

VS

so i was taking a break from writing...btw...trying to review cds for boybands or ex boyband members is really tough. i rarely have anything nice to say. anyway..back to the point. taking a break and turned on the tv hoping to catch something interesting on astro. while i was flipping the channels i found out that HBO was showing constantine. i thought to myself..."great, i haven't seen it yet plus its just starting". about 5 minutes through and i had this strange feeling that something was wrong. no sign of keanu reeves...no signs of anything constantine-like. just some paedophile trying to rape what looked like a 6 year old girl and some vigilante showing up to save the day by shooting the paedophile like 4 times. nothing constantine about that. get this...it turns out that astro...or should i say our local FILEM NEGARA decided to censor the entire movie. maybe censor is not exactly the word to use. if it was censored they'd just put a 2 hour long apology for service being temporarily interrupted. they decided to replace the entire movie with something else. so they switched a cult movie with a paedophile killing vigilante movie? i went online to check whether constantine was showed at our local cinemas and what do you know....it was. but its unsuitable for astro? even at 3am? if parents aren't able to keep their children away from the tv at 3 am then they don't deserve astro. i wonder how many people will end up watching "A PROMISE KEPT" or according to its working US title, "THE GUNMAN" thinking that its "CONSTANTINE". talk about false advertising...i want justice.

writers block

its been 2 days and i've only written exactly 495 words. if that's not writers block than what is? deadlines are nearing...there's still so much to do. give me another 2 days and i'm going to "panic stage". i don't exactly know what the "panic stage" entails but i'm curious to find out...at the rate i'm going it is definitely a possibility.

been wanting to check out the new (not so new anymore) cathay cineleisure. i've been slacking in terms of movies. then again...i've been slacking...period. i've grown lazy and comfortable with slacking. i actually had a scary thought just now while i was driving to mcdonalds to buy dinner. i actually considered going back to singapore next year to work. i need routine...i need discipline. oh my...contemplating going back to singapore is not a good sign. am i really bored already...that was quick huh? i've been back for only 3 months and i'm already having a tough time with the laid back lifestyle of Kuala Lumpur living.

anyway...its time to attempt to write another 500 words. hopefully i'll get to 2000 by tomorrow....hopefully....

the award for worst reality tv show goes to....

DANCE FEVER vs. ARE YOU HOT?

it's amazing how bad reality tv can get. how can you go wrong?

was watching an episode of dance fever which is a reality tv show that was aired in 2003. they've got some pretty big names judging the show...M.C Hammer (don't see the relevance in terms of dance)...Carmen Electra (lagi no relevance to dance unless you consider running in slow mo dance) and Jamie King. ok so jamie king is like some big time dance choreographer but he wasn't giving much constructive input. the show is just a repeat of william hung over and over again. every contestant is mediocre...wait a minute...mediocre is a bit of over statement. they were just down right horrible. none of them belong there. compare them to the contestants on "So You Think You Can Dance" and these people look like first graders. gosh...and they claim to be looking for the "BEST DANCER IN AMERICA".

i've seen a few episodes of are you hot? when i was in singapore. the show is just bodohs. they're looking for the hottest guy and girl in america. now honestly...how many truly hot people would actually sign up for the show? none...so all you get are a bunch of average looking people who think they're hot. its just too stupid.

the politically correct amazing race

trust the amazing race to try and be politically correct. the 10th season of the amazing race will feature a gay couple (as they always do)...a pair of male models (so predictable)...a pair of girlfriends (which are probably hot)...a pair of em-Miss USA contestants (to increase viewership)...and get this...the first ever INDIAN-American team and the first ever MUSLIM team. and the newspaper article had to highlight the MUSLIM team just in case we couldn't read the print. so what? america goes to war with the middle east...and muslims around the world i might add...and now you're using them as a selling point? but to be fair...they did mention the gay team and the indian-american team. they didn't mention the amputee and the open lesbian though.

how to conduct your very own money making scam:-

step 1: print out a hundred coupons like so (forgive the poor illustration)

step 2: create another set of lucky draw coupons like so

step 3: find a place to prey on innocent and naive people. preferably some place where these money making scams are still a myth. some suggestions include pleasantville and neverland. pot yourself there until you find an unwitting target.

step 4: make up a story. something along the lines of "Congratulations! you've been chosen to be the winner of our 10th anniversary (always give a big number. 1st anniversary isn't very convincing or reassuring) lucky draw. there's RM1,000,000 in cash and prizes to give away. so far, we've given away 15 OSIM chairs, 10 round trip tickets to Paris, RM250,000 cash. the only prizes left are 5 perdana v6's and 1 blender. your chances are 5 out of 6 to win a perdana. good odds no? let me bring you to my office where you have to put down a RM10,000 down payment for the perdana v6. if you get the perdana v6, we will pay for the remaining value. if you get the blender...we keep the down payment and you go home with *drum roll please*....a BLENDER!. but you see ah...your chances are 5 out of 6. very good odds. better to take the risk. if not you'll never know whether you COULD'VE won yourself a brand new perdana v6."

step 5: make sure you collect the RM10,000 down payment before letting the target dig into the lucky draw jar. upon collecting the payment...allow the target to select a coupon from the lucky draw jar.

by the way...if you're not sure how the mechanics of this scam works...you shouldn't be conducting your own money making scam. just remember to fill the jar with BLENDER COUPONS only. be more creative and come up with your own twist to the scam. this is just an outline.

*note* please draft out a legal document exempting you from any liability for any damages caused whether it be psychological or financial.

happy hunting :)

8th wonder of the world

in my opinion...the 8th wonder of the world should be the durian. for some reason...a lot of people despise the fruit. i on the other hand...would pray to the gods if doing so would make it durian season all year round. anyway...for those who share the same passion for durian as i do...go try the durian cake at bon bon's. note: you probably have to order the cake 2 weeks in advance. that's how well it sells. another good place for durians is the padang near chow yang. ask for the elvis variety. ooh...onz.

went to velvet earlier. now i know why i hardly frequent the place. it is soooooo packed. there's no space to dance...walk...or even smoke. its tedious to just stand cause there's people pushing you left and right. but you know what...i doubt that's going to stop me from going there again.

i am a jakun

i finally crawled out of my shell today and went to laundry @ the curve. been hearing about it but i've never been there till today. what caused me to emerge from my shell? some call it boredom...actually everyone calls it boredom. its a pretty nice place to hang out. heard they have live bands performing on thursday. that would be interesting.

watched pirates 2 yesterday. the movie the broke box office records across the world. its nothing to shout about...another one of those movies that leaves you hanging so you have to wait for part 3. which by the way i think is a gimmick. when pirates 3 is set to be released people will be heading out to buy the pirates 2 dvd just to refresh their memories. johnny depp was superb as usual. can't say the same for his 2 co-stars.

russell peters live in singapore

russell peters is finally making his way to singapore on october 6th. he was supposed to perform there last october while i was still working in singapore but apparently he cancelled because of the bali bombings. anyway...for those of you who are interested...tickets are selling fast. sales only started like 3 days ago but its already almost sold out. only available tickets left are mostly at the side.

the vienna boys choir is performing on october 7th and 8th. still haven't decided whether the S$100+ tickets are justifiable. then again i paid S$87 for russell peters so i guess the vienna boys choir for S$100+ is pretty reasonable. it is after all "The Vienna Boys Choir". now...who can i drag to watch a bunch of young boys in sailor outfits sing like angels.....anyone?

Justifiable head butt?

apparently...materazzi is a nipple fondling faggot. i guess zidane decided to take justice into his own hands.

i'm curious to know though...if materazzi was caught in the act by the referee...red handedly spotted tweaking zidane's nipples...would he have been penalized?

wedding bells

this is for the viewing pleasure for those of you who weren't around or were not able to attend nicole & chu ming's wedding. i'm a bit lazy to load pictures so here's one of the happy couple.

and here's one of the *ahem* handsome young men.

and one of the ladies

notice the difference in numbers between the guys and girls. i wonder who's going to be next.

the azuri's are hot

final match is tomorrow. i haven't decided which side to pick but since the italians are hot i think i'll go with beauty.

he's my pick for best looking player to reach the finals. very freddie prinze jr. like no? think its the smile.

but he's my pick for best looking player in the world cup 2006. ooh...so hot. doesn't matter what his name is...could be kaka...kuku...lulu...augustine. who cares when you have a face like that.

i'm kinda glad that the world cup is gonna be over though. finally get my shit together and live like a normal person. eat and sleep regularly and pay full attention to work. i seriously wonder how many people will show up to work and give 100% on monday...

jackpot

i can sleep soundly now that i know i've bagged the 9200 bucks.

anyway...its been a hell of a month. world cup is almost over. 3 matches left before the winner is crowned. i was rooting for germany to win but for 9200 bucks i had to support italy. since germany is out of contention i will now support portugal. but then again...italy has a whole load of hot looking players so its a tough choice between portugal and italy.

finally got my first pay cheque since i came back from singapore. feels good to be back and working again. realized that i'm not too familiar with the fast cheque system back here. in singapore i'd just drop the cheque into the slot. no forms to fill out...no buttons to press. before i left for singapore the banks in malaysia were still using the bank in slip system where i had to fill out the form and slot it into the envelope and keep the yellow slip. so imagine me going to UOB and trying to figure out which way to insert the cheque and all that. i had to enlist the help of a friendly security guard who taught me how to use the machine. shy...i so jakun.

anyway...i'm finally settling down with work and all. i've retired from teaching and moved to being a glorified office girl/secretary. i sat down for 2 hours yesterday trying to sort out all my brothers documents and files and i realized i'm really anal when it comes to certain things. i get pissed off when reinforcement rings are not stuck to the punched holes of documents. when you start flipping through it'll get bigger and start to tear. so ugly. i also get pissed off when my cds and dvds aren't arranged and labelled properly. who would've guessed that i'm a neat freak....

dua puluh empat

sudah 2 hari saya tengok 24...takde tidur...takde makan...hanya break untuk tengok argentina kalah pada germany.

its mad. 24 is just too damn exciting and it just leaves you on the edge of your seat at the end of every episode. and since i have the complete season 5 i don't have to wait till next week to catch the next episode. so i just go on and on and on and on until the sun rises...and i keep going on. all my responsibilities and commitments have been brushed aside just to find out what happens to jack bauer. 24 must be the greatest tv show ever made...after gilmore girls that is. but then again...2 completely different types of tv shows so i guess they're both the best of their kind.

germany won...so i'm so much closer to winning 9000 bucks. let's just hope portugal wins tomorrow. if they don't then i'm hoping for an italy vs brazil final. ooh...10 more days and i can finally resume back to default settings. right now everything is out of whack. lunch is at 7pm...dinner at 3am...bedtime at 9am. and of course i'll finally find out whether i've won the jackpot.
