10,000 BC

initially i was pretty stoked to see this movie. especially after the release of the first trailer. mammoths...sabre tooth tigers...warriors...all that jazz. i was hoping it would be like apocalypto...which by the way was one of my favourite movies. after the release of the 2nd trailer i was kinda disappointed especially when the main character could be heard speaking in english in somewhat of a strange accent.

but my oh my...i wasn't at all prepared for what i was going to see. nothing seemed to work..from the script to the camerawork to the effects to the cast. it all seems too familiar. you've probably seen it somewhere else and chances are you'll recognize it. i lost count of the amount of times i smacked my head and went "WTF!?!?"

and come on...mr d'leh (who's the protagonist here) comes from a starving tribe but he's able to cross mountains and multiple climate zones in a matter of days. on top of that...he meets some very colourful people in some of the most outrageous pieces of clothing that should belong on the catwalk.

complete disaster. now i shall go redeem myself by watching something worthy of my two hours.
