one race...one religion...one language

ok...so maybe sitiawan isn't that bad. its not exactly new york or london but it does have KFC. not really a sign of modernisation but i'm trying to find a silver lining. internet services are RM10 an hour at the resort i'm staying at. i won't go as far as to say there's no cell phone coverage...*crosses fingers*. by the way....we've decided to go exotic and stay at lumut instead of sitiawan. apparently...there's no mcd's and no starbucks. the horror!

so the LING family reunion has finally arrived. tomorrow night will be the first session. parents showing off their children...screaming praises about individual success...comparing beauty. i guess it's to be expected. we live in a competitive world. what more...relatives are the best people to compete with cause we apparently have the same BLOOD. i'm not worried about being judged. scrutinize me for all i care...it'll take them more than two dinners to figure me out. i'll be back by Christmas and chances are there wouldn't be anymore reunions in my lifetime so i won't have to put up with anymore rolling eyes and degradation. people looking at me thinking i have no morals, no manners, no decency, no faith, no direction, no ambition, no respect...yada yada.

and hey...if any of you Ling's are reading this....all i can say is ha ha :)
